Jay Beyond Jewelry: Big Plans for 2020
The man behind the brand – Jay Landa – is far more than jewelry. He's a stylist. He's a world traveler. He's passionate about equality and human rights. He's a lover of animals (especially his Frenchie Moe). He loves a good vodka martini. And that only scratches the surface.
It's the start of a new year – and decade! – so we're taking a look at the past year and what's to come in 2020. Jay has big plans!
Q. What day would you live over again in 2019? Be specific!
A. The day I introduced my mom to Hotel Amparo in San Miguel de Allende, where Daniel and I will wed in March. She was overwhelmed with emotion.
Q. Let's hear a few of your favorites from the past year: Book, Movie, Music - GO!
A. I really loved the book Goldfinch. Obsessed with the movie Parasite. And watching Mumford and Sons live in concert was so fun.
Q. What fashion and/or accessory trend are you looking forward to in 2020?
A. In 2020, I'm looking forward to more #neckmess styles – personalizing your jewelry has been a great trend that we have enjoyed profusely. LOVE LOVE our diamond huggies in all metals (14k yellow, rose, or white gold) and our diamond charms that go with them as well. These designs will extend to 2020 thankfully.
Q. Where do you want to explore this year?
A. I want to explore Japan – I hope we make the trek this year.
Q. What risk do you want to take in 2020?
A. The biggest risk in 2020 you ask?! (insert drum roll) Moving the J. Landa Jewelry storefront from Rice Village to River Oaks. It's time to leave the comforts of Rice Village (after 20+ years) and leap across Highway 59 to River Oaks. I'm excited to meet my new neighbors and new clients that simply don't make it to Rice. Plus, introduce my loyal followers to a newly designed store. It's happening Spring 2020. Stay tuned for details to come.

Q. What day would you live over again in 2019? Be specific! I attended the naturalization of one of my students it was one of the most exciting moments of 2019 and she graduated with her bachelors.
Q. What fashion and/or accessory trend are you looking forward to in 2020?
I love them all but I do you have some jewelry I would like to see remade into something more stylish and not so dated
Q. Where do you want to explore this year?
A. I want to explore England/Scotland/Wales.
But first I need to see how much I owe Uncle Sam….ha ha
Q. What risk do you want to take in 2020?
A new career currently seeking this opportunity and being picky after all I should be…. Because it’s all about me and my happiness. And when that happens I’ll definitely wear one of my favorite pieces of jewelry the beautiful turquoise necklace I bought from you.
I met Jay many years ago, mid-nineties, and he is such a talented artist that I highly respect and love!
